A little about me.

I’m an east coast born midwest transplant. I grew up directly outside Boston and now reside in Chicago with my husband, two small children, and two orange cats. I come from a big, boisterous family and extended circle of loving friends, and carry the sense of joy, playfulness, and community that I grew up with into my work.

The performing arts are something I have been involved with since a young age through dance and drama. I went on to study theater at Boston College. In my early 20s I ran a small fringe theater company in Boston while also performing and directing on many stages.

After moving to Chicago, my passion for makeup design and application was ignited while performing with a storefront theater company dedicated to producing horror on stage. I frequently found myself covered with a great deal of stage makeup and fake blood and the romance began!

I taught myself different skills in face and body paint, took classes when I could, and practiced nonstop. I developed programming in stage and fantasy makeup for young people, and through the art of teaching I continued to improve my craft.

Currently I’m a proud member of the Wigs & Makeup crew at the Lyric Opera where I’ve worked on principal artists, dancers, actors, supernumeraries, and chorus members. I also teach and design at numerous schools and theaters including New Trier High School and Filament Theatre Ensemble.
